The Ram cross country teams ran in the Roland Story Invitational Thursday in Story City. The boys finished 12th of 16 teams and the girls finished 8th of 15 teams.
“This meet had a lot of very good competition, and although we didn’t finish toward the top of the standings, the times were pretty good overall with several PRs,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “I’m very proud of their effort.”
The first Ram boy across the finish line was Logan Woodruff with a time of 18:48, good for 50th place. Other Ram finishes going into the team score were Luis Velazco, 19:20, 66th; Dakota Mobley, 19:29, 70th; Ethan Frederick, 19:47, 76th; Connor Brus, 198:48, 78th; Ethan Larsen, 20:26, 94th; and Jose Velazco, 20:48, 101st. (The winning time was 16:27 set by Jason Renze of Madrid.)
Team scores were Norwalk 55, Madrid 64, North Polk 74, Bondurant-Farrar 130, Ogden 147, Kuemper Catholic 175, South Hamilton 183, Webster City 183, Roland-Story 236, Woodward Granger 309, Nevada 325, Greene County 340, Saydel 346, Colo-NESCO 373, West Central Valley 432, and Southeast Valley 436.
Ashlee Harmeyer paced the girls, finishing in 23:21 and in 37th place in the race. Other Ram finishes going into the team score were Kassie Lamoureux, 24:39, 50th; Conner Allender, 25:04, 56th; Makala Kafer, 25:39, 63rd; Autumn Stevens, 25:56, 67th; Kayla Muir, 26:127, 69th; and Tieryn Tucker, 26:54, 80th. (The winning girls time was 19:29 by Liza Schaffer of North Polk.)
